BTN News: A year after the sudden death of her son Julián Figueroa, Maribel Guardia reveals she still feels connected to him through dreams and a medium. Julián, who was 27, died on April 9, 2023, from a heart attack. To cope with her grief, Maribel reached out to a medium, on a friend’s recommendation, to communicate more directly with her son.
Communicating Beyond the Grave
Maribel described the session with the medium as if she were making a phone call to her son. “It felt like a phone call with Julián. He told me many things—about his baby, my mom, and even about a hat I couldn’t find. The medium mentioned a toy of his from childhood, which I later found and gave to his son. The things he mentioned were known only to him and me. It was very comforting,” she shared in an exclusive interview with Televisa Espectáculos.
Finding Strength in Grief
Maribel shared that she sought the medium’s help on the anniversary of her son’s death, a time when her health had declined due to overwhelming sadness. “I was in a bad state. My hand trembled, and I couldn’t walk straight. After that day, I began to recover,” she said.
A Message from the Beyond
Guardia also revealed that her son gave her a cherished message during his funeral, along with other messages after his death. “When I was with the Virgin of Guadalupe, he gave me a message. Recently, he told me, ‘Mom, when you die, I’ll be waiting for you with a red carpet. You’ll be overwhelmed by all the love I’ll give you.’ But only God knows when that time will come,” she reflected.
Premonitions and Mystical Dreams
Maribel mentioned that Julián had premonitory and mystical dreams, some even continuing the next day. He once dreamt of Diego Verdaguer, who had passed away, meeting him in a grand white palace. “Diego asked him to stay, but Julián replied, ‘No, not yet.’ This dream happened two months before his death,” she added.
Moving Forward for Her Grandson
Despite the pain, Maribel finds strength in her grandson, Julián’s son, who gives her a reason to live and reinvent herself every day. “When you go through something like this, a part of you dies, but a part of my son lives in me. That has been my inspiration to keep going. There are moments when you don’t even want to get up, but you have to reflect and push forward,” she concluded.
Maribel Guardia’s story is a touching testament to a mother’s enduring love and the mystical ways she stays connected to her son, finding solace and strength in their spiritual bond.
