Lisa Kudrow Reveals Awkward ‘Friends’ Moment That Shocked Fans

BTN News: “Friends” is one of the most loved sitcoms ever, and fans still follow any news about it. Lisa Kudrow, who played Phoebe Buffay, recently shared some uncomfortable moments from her time on the show. She did not like performing in front of a live audience. The actress felt that the audience sometimes laughed too much, which did not feel natural. “It really bothered me. It was like, ‘You’re ruining the rhythm of the rest of the show,’” she admitted. The forced laughter took away from the performance.

Lisa remembered many times when she got annoyed with the audience. Even though she did not enjoy those moments, Kudrow started watching “Friends” again because of Matthew Perry’s death. Perry, who played Chandler Bing, passed away on October 28 of last year at his home in Los Angeles. Kudrow said, “Honestly, I couldn’t watch it because it’s too embarrassing to see myself. But if I do it for Matthew, then it’s okay.”

Kudrow said she started watching the show again, not from the beginning, but through TV marathons. Since Perry’s passing, she has spent whole days watching old episodes. She praised her co-stars, saying they were all very funny. “I’m laughing out loud, and everyone is so funny. I’m impressed by Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer. Sometimes, I even laugh at what I did,” she said.

Kudrow also talked about the joy of working with such a talented group, thanking the creators, Marta Kauffman, David Crane, and Kevin S. Bright. She remembered the fun they had, especially with Matthew Perry, who always tried to make everyone laugh. “We laughed so hard that tears would stream down our faces,” she recalled.

Olivia Williams Also Faced Challenges While Acting on ‘Friends’

Lisa Kudrow is not the only actor who had a tough time on “Friends.” Earlier this year, Olivia Williams, who appeared briefly on the show, shared her own difficult experience. In an interview with The Independent, Williams said that “Friends” had a specific brand image that everyone had to follow. This included strict rules in the makeup and hairstyling department. She was told to fit a certain style, which meant changing a lot, like having all her eyebrow hair plucked.

Williams also saw an unkind incident with another actress called “Old Woman.” Despite her good performance, a producer told her, “You’re not funny!” The actress was dismissed and did not return the next day. Williams described the event as “alarming.”
