BTN News: Gabriel Soto was rushed to the hospital after experiencing extremely high blood pressure, according to producer Gerardo Quiroz, who informed EL UNIVERSAL about the incident.
Emergency Hospitalization
Soto is currently in the hospital’s emergency department, where doctors are working to stabilize him. Quiroz mentioned that the exact cause of the high blood pressure is unknown, stating, “He’s hospitalized right now, in emergencies, being stabilized and channeled. It might be some form of decompensation, but we’re not sure what caused it.”
Incident Before the Show
The incident occurred before the first performance of the play El precio de la fama, starring Cecilia Galliano and Gabriel Soto. Quiroz explained that Soto began to feel unwell, showing symptoms such as vomiting, unstable pulse, high blood pressure, and respiratory issues. Due to these serious health concerns, Soto was taken to the hospital, and all weekend performances were canceled. Doctors plan to keep Soto under observation and conduct several tests.
Health Condition and Future Outlook
Soto’s attending physician indicated that he might remain hospitalized until Tuesday, as the medical team needs to determine the cause of his high blood pressure. Quiroz noted that Soto has been following a healthy diet and exercise regimen and had no previous signs of such health issues.
Response from Fans and the Production Team
Quiroz emphasized that the health of his actors and collaborators is a top priority. He expressed gratitude for the understanding and empathy shown by those who had purchased tickets for the canceled performances. Only eight people from out of town requested refunds, while others accepted the rescheduled dates. “Either everyone involved is present, or the show does not go on until the time is right,” Quiroz said, highlighting the importance of the actors’ well-being. The play had been sold out before the cancellations.
By ensuring Gabriel Soto’s health and safety, the production team hopes to continue with the performances once he fully recovers.
