The shooting took place between Wednesday night and Thursday morning. Rangers answered an emergency call. The first reports said a person was making threats and showing a weapon in Canyon Village. This made the National Park Service officers act quickly.
When the rangers arrived, they met the suspect. There was a shootout between the suspect and the officers. The suspect died in the gunfire. The suspect’s name has not been shared by officials yet.
One of the rangers was also hurt in the shootout. The ranger is now stable in a local hospital, thanks to quick medical help.
