The state government of Maharashtra was providing security to Mukesh Ambani and his family as per the instructions of the central government. The billionaire industrialist was given Z category protection. And his wife Nita Ambani gets Y category protection.
In recent public interest litigation, the Tripura High Court questioned the security arrangements given to the Ambani family. The apex court will hear an appeal against the decision of the Tripura High Court on the Centre’s appeal.
The Center claims that providing security to a particular person or family cannot be in the public interest. Even the Tripura High Court has no basis to question the security of Mukesh Ambani. The High Court lacks the authority to contest this. At the same time, the Center objected to the order to summon the Union Home Ministry officers in this case.
Mukesh Ambani, one of India’s most popular and one of the world’s top 10 millionaires, received death threats. Last year, a threatening telegram was found with a car loaded with explosives outside the Reliance chief’s home in Antilia.
