The United States defeated Mexico in the first duel for ninth place.

Already in the definition phase, day five of the U19 Men’s Roller Hockey World Championship began at the Aldo Cantoni Stadium in San Juan. In the first game, representatives of North America faced each other: the United States and Mexico. The win was 17 to 4 for USA.

Although the game was dominated by the USA, the match began with the first goal in the Mexican Championship, on the scoreboard through Jindrich Kuoutel, player number 8 at 5’07”. The United States reacted quickly through Gennaro Camaglio (No. 25) at 5’27”. Almost like the déj vu of the first two goals, the situation repeats itself when ngel Benítez (N°2) makes 9 for Mexico. ’08” and Batista Coglio (N°12) at 9’30” for USA.

In the second half, the men led by Scott Ferguson were determined to define the match and indeed did so from the start, scoring five goals in the first eleven minutes, widening the gap in such a way that Mexican resistance was extinguished. The United States scored eleven goals in this time, thanks to Batista Conoglio (5), Gennaro Coneglio (3), Christian Sarvar (2) and Wesley Smarak. For Mexico, Jindrich Cuotl gave a leeway for the last 17 to 4.

Tomorrow, Saturday, they will meet again to define 9th and 10th place in the championship, in which the United States has already taken a better position than its North American neighbor.
