BTN News: In the lead-up to Paris 2024, the Refugee Olympic Team has unveiled its debut kit inspired by their new emblem celebrating diverse athletes coming together in solidarity The arrow way marker and heart emblem represent the spirit of hope, belonging and resilience nurtured by the Olympic Refuge Foundation.
Olympic pins, an intrinsic part of the Games’ culture dating back to 1896 in Athens, have moved from humble cloth badges to hot collectibles. Typically passed between delegations, these pins have now become some of the most recognizable and collectable symbols of each Games by everyone from athletes (both competing and retired), to volunteers and fans. In anticipation of the Paris 2024 edition, the Refugee Olympic Team will issue a unique set of pins as part of its-1 in 100 million campaign, celebrating the group of special athletes that have persevered against all odds to make it to the world’s largest sporting event.
Only 100 of these limited edition pins are in appreciation for the over 100 million displaced people, from the many other support teams that will be available to their supporters before the Games. Information about how to get hold of these pins will be released in July through @RefugeeOlympicTeam channels.
In addition to the physical pins, fans can sport Refugees.OlympicTeam stickers and filters on their go-to social media network.
It won’t have been lost on the wider audience that this was as much a statement of intent from the extraordinary athletes as it was a rallying cry to others around the world to support them ahead of Paris 2024.
