Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot to meet Sonia Gandhi in Delhi amid crisis in home state

Bright Times News: Today in Delhi, Ashok Gehlot, the chief minister of Rajasthan, will meet Sonia Gandhi, the temporary leader of the Congress. This comes amid rumors regarding Gehlot, including whether he will decide to carry out his original intention and submit his nomination for the position of Congress president.

After 82 MLAs handed in their resignation letters to CP Joshi, the speaker of the assembly, a political drama broke out on Sunday night. If Gehlot gets the Congress presidential nomination, the MLAs who quit laid out a three-point platform against choosing Sachin Pilot as the country’s next chief minister.

Their demands include appointing a chief minister from among the 102 MLAs who supported the Congress party in June 2020, during the attempted overthrow of the government.

The MLAs in the Gehlot camp also informed the party’s top command that discussions regarding a potential change in Rajasthan’s leadership should wait till the next Congress President has been chosen. Third, it’s important to analyse Ashok Gehlot’s decision.

The Congress leadership and Gehlot supporters got into a confrontation as a result, and the party high command requested a report from its party observers, Mallikarjun Kharge and Ajay Maken.

In contrast, the observers told Sonia Gandhi in their report that Gehlot was not to blame for the state’s issue but that they should take disciplinary action against powerful people for convening a rival conference.

Shanti Dhariwal, Mahesh Joshi, and MLA Dharmendra Rathore were among the cabinet members from the Gehlot camp accused of arranging the parallel conference in an effort to sabotage the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) gathering.

The legislature meeting was called at the party president’s request, and Mallikarjun Kharge and Ajay Maken, two party observers, were expected to attend.
