Mumbai court sentences Raj Babbar to 2 years in jail for assaulting a polling officer 26 years ago

Bright Times News: The court ordered the imprisonment of legendary actor and politician Raj Babbar. He was sentenced to two years in prison for touching a government official 26 years ago. Besides, the MP / MLA Court of Lucknow has ordered the politician to pay a fine of Rs 8,500 for the crime.

What exactly did he commit? He was accused of obstructing the work of a government official during the May 2, 1996, Lok Sabha elections. It was alleged that Raj Babbar had beaten the polling officer. After that FIR was registered in the name of Raj in Wazirganj.

Raj Babbar was the candidate of the Samajwadi Party at that time. Raj is currently the leader of the Congress. It is learned that Raj can challenge this verdict of the MP / MLA Court in the High Court.

The aggrieved polling officer Shri Krishna Singh Rana had filed an FIR against Raj Babbar 26 years ago. He alleged that Raj and his supporters entered the polling station and obstructed the work. Or they also carried out vandalism.

It is alleged that several voters were injured at that time. On March 23, 1996, the police filed a charge sheet against Raj Babbar under sections 143, 332, 353, 504, 23, and 188 of the IPC. A year later, the case was decided. Raj Babbar is in trouble because of this.

On the other hand, Punjab Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu is in jail for beating an old man. He has been sentenced to rigorous imprisonment. He is getting a minimum salary of 40 rupees per day for his labour.

According to the jail guidelines, Sidhu was not supposed to get any money for the first 90 days of work. After that time is over, Sidhu will be paid a minimum of Rs 40 and a maximum of Rs 90 for work every day. He will be paid depending on how he is working. Salary money is supposed to reach Sidhu’s bank account directly.

Navjot Singh Sidhu was taken to Rajendra Hospital in Punjab for a medical examination in May this year. After examining him, the doctors said that he had a ban on several foods. According to the doctors, Sidhu is not able to eat any food made of flour and sugar. He is being given berry, papaya, guava, an nd double-toned milk. According to the court order, he has been given a diet chart of seven meals for Sidhu.
