It is learned that this year’s Rath Yatra festival will start on July 1 in Puri. In this context, Puri District Magistrate Samarth Verma said, “We have two options open around the Rath Yatra.” If the covid infection increases, then the festival will be held without Devotees like last two years. The Odisha government has already started preparations for the Rath Yatra festival. The district magistrate said that various departments like health, electricity, police, and sewerage are fully prepared. According to him, since the Puri Rath Yatra festival has not been held in such a manner for the last two years, this year more than 1.5 million visitors may gather. The administration has already started preparations thinking of gathering so many people.

Meanwhile, cyclone fears have intensified in Odisha. Sixteen districts have already been alerted to deal with the cyclone. The district magistrates have been directed to handle the cyclone situation. Special Relief Commissioner PK Jana has written a letter to the district magistrate.

The meteorological department has been instructed to take necessary steps in compliance with the forecast of the cyclone. The IMD has notified the Odisha government that a depression has formed in the South Andaman Sea and that it will develop in the next 48 hours and move north-west.

Ashani will be the name of the cyclone if it forms. As the administration has said it will set up temporary relief camps during the storm, precautionary measures are being taken to identify areas that may be most affected. In six coastal sites, satellite phones and digital mobile radio communication systems have been installed.
