Bikes for Care in Bordeaux: the challenge of collecting donations

In 2022, at the initiative of Pierre-Henri Gegy, deputy general manager of Maison Louis Jadot, and his Burgundian friends, a program called Bike to Care was created to raise funds for the benefit of associations that, in the catering and hospitality sectors, are facing difficulties. Caring for people in the UK, promoting new businesses and supporting the training of new talent.

During the first edition, held in Burgundy, €250,000 was collected for charity, with amounts varying depending on the country.

This sporting and charity challenge, which brings together teams from several countries, will take place this year on 8 and 9 May 2023 in Bordeaux and is organized by Haut-Bailley, Giscors and Lynch Bages Castle. Médoc, Graves and Sauternes will be the center of attraction along the route of almost 200 km. First day in Medoc. Day two in Graves and Sauternes.

Each team that accepts the challenge is responsible for raising at least €20,000, through their networks and/or through fundraising events, prior to the event. It will select the association that will benefit from the fundraising and that works in favor of the catering and hotel sector to train young talents, restaurateurs or sommeliers.

So it is understandable that the aim of each runner would not be to reach first, but to help the team he is a part of, to take up the challenge and collect funds.

This year 7 teams have been selected. 1 from France, 1 from the United Kingdom, 1 from the Netherlands, 1 from Belgium, and 3 from the United States of America who will be well represented. Donors can use the link listed below.
