Bright Times News: Assam Floods Update: The flood situation in Assam has taken a terrible shape. The death toll in Assam has underwater to the situation and landslides. Some are still reported missing. According to the Assam Disaster Management Office, about 2,235 people were affected in 24 districts including Cachar, Dibrugarh, and Dima Hasao. 29 trains were canceled in Assam.
Assam is practically being submerged in water due to heavy rains. Vast areas of Assam are practically undunderwatere to continuous rains. The railway line was not left out either. In the Nagaon district, the water level of the Kopili river is also above the danger level. Several villages have collapsed. Indian Army, paramilitary forces, fire brigade, and volunteers were involved in the rescue operation.
The northeastern state is facing floods for the first time this year due to torrential rains. In Nagaon, 70-80 people trapped at home have been rescued. The amount of rain may grow further, according to the meteorological department. A resident of Nagaon told an all-India media, “Everything was destroyed in the flood situation. We are all upset. Many people have become homeless. They have taken shelter in the streets.
